Objective: An interactive and engaging brand channel promotion in line with McDonald’s national “any excuse for a Big Mac” campaign.
Solution: An interactive Big Mac excuse generator was implemented in conjunction with static and video content to get users engaged with the product. The interactive excuse generator provided users with various humorous excuses to purchase the Big Mac meal. A Pac-man style McDonald’s themed game, called Mac Attack, was also included in phase two of the campaign to entertain and engage users.
Results: McDonald’s recorded a very high engagement rate from users. On average more that 70% of users watched the video content to completion. The inclusion of the Mac Attack game in phase two resulted in the average time spent within the campaign soaring to more than approximately 3 minutes – an increase of more than 500%.
